BioTeam has recently announced the release of a new web-based laboratory information management system (LIMS), built as a cost-effective solution for scientists.

The BioTeam MiniLIMS for ion torrent personal genome machine (PGM) is set for release on March 15th, and will provide a fast, simple and flexible solution which is connected directly to the Ion Torrent Server.

The tight integration allows for automated data transfer, speeds data processing, and eliminates many sources of error. The lab products captures the sample receipt, sample prep, planned experiments, and results viewing.

Stan Gloss, managing director, BioTeam, said: "Effective data management is an ongoing challenge for NGS users with many still using spreadsheets. MiniLIMS helps PGM users quickly gain improved control of their NGS data and derive more value from their NGS-based activities."

Simplified data entry is a core capability of the MiniLIMS. It allows users to customise data entry and display to match samples, reagents, workflows, and instruments. This can then be quickly uploaded.

Added to this, the new technology also allows for automatic loading of PGM Data and powerful report generation.
