Quality Systems International (QSI) has created a webbased application that enables companies and laboratories to quickly and easily record time spent on specific jobs and enable them to track resources and costs more efficiently.

The software application has been developed to run as a stand-alone solution or be integrated with QSI’s proven  WinLims software. The time recording solution features a simple graphical user interface that allows users to record time spent on specific jobs or to record, in advance, time allocations for work that is going to be performed in future. Screen views are provided to show the time recorded by day, week and month. Each time allocation record allows key data such as the charge rate and type of activity to be recorded against the job to which the time is allocated. The data recorded can also be integrated with other payroll and accounts systems. Integrating the time recording software with WinLims also enables users to easily record time allocations against specific projects and/or job requests.

“Combining the time recording solution with WinLims provides contract laboratories and businesses with the kind of accurate information they require to enable them to bill their time out to clients more quickly,” explained Clive Collier, QSI’s Managing Director. “The web based architecture also allows technicians and engineers who perform work at client sites to remotely record their time spent on specific tasks or projects”.

The time recording software is also available as part of QSI’s WinLims Rental solution that enables organisations to use a full LIMS package for a low monthly fee of a few hundred pounds a month, with a low up-front cost. WinLims Rental is identical to QSI’s full WinLims system, and comes bundled with an installation program and tutorials to get users up and running as quickly and easily as possible. The rental agreements can be converted to a subscription contract or full purchase at any time, keeping an organisation’s options open.
