New Laboratory Gas Blender Released

Mar 17 2015

Codel International is please to announce the release of of the DigiBlend 128; this is an attractively priced gas blender ideally suited for laboratories or process operators to enable them to produce gas mixtures in blending ratios in 128 steps from 100% through to 1:127 dilution. Its key feature is that is does not require regular external calibration by an independant laboratory due to its unique binary calibration method.

One of the key issues surrounding gas blenders is the need for regular and expensive recalibration to ISO 6145 by an independent laboratory. The DigiBlend 128 performs a novel internal multipoint calibration method using a binary method; this method does not require external validation and produces very low dilution uncertainties of +/- 0.5% of value.

The DigiBlend 128 performs a calibration on power up to ensure that the blender is accurate every time it is used by an operator. This ensures ongoing accurate operation unlike some blenders that can may drift significantly beween calibrations. The unit can deliver flows adjustable from 4 to 20 litres/min.

The operator can choose to connect up to four separate audit gases plus the diluent gas which is normally Nitrogen (N2); this enables the operator to quickly produce gas blends quickly and efficiently without the need to  constantly change gas bottles.

The DigiBlend 128 uses eight very repeatable and stable mass flow controllers in its operation, these are factory tested to ensure the blender remains stable during it’s operational life.

The operation of the DigiBlend 128  is controlled via a software suite running on the onboard touch screen monitor or on the operators laptop or PC. This easy to use package allows the operator to select a variety of functions including calibration, mixture  and audit gas selection. The blender can be user programmed to provide a sequence of blending ratios with up to four different gases to provide automated blending delivery.

The DigiBlend will suit laboratories or gas blending operations and represents a major advance in gas blending technology.
