The new IKA® thermostat portfolio – For sophisticated applications

Oct 01 2014

IKA offers a wide range of high-precision tempering systems. The product portfolio includes compact ICC immersion circulators, IC bridge thermostats, HBC 5 and HBC 10 heated bath circulators and RC 2 circulating chillers. With these products, IKA offers the right thermostat for every application.

This traditional company supplies the ICC basic and ICC control immersion circulators as inexpensive entry-level solutions for tempering in water baths and oil baths at a medium temperature of up to 150°C. The product engineers and designers have put particular emphasis on safe and convenient handling: The transport handle allows the device to be assembled and dismantled both safely and conveniently. The two pre-installed feet prevent the thermostat from tipping over and the tubular heater from being damaged.

The conventional IC bridge thermostats and HBC heated bath circulators are high-performance thermostats with a 2500-W heat output, up to 250°C maximum temperature, up to 0.7 bar pressure and a temperature constancy of up to  0.01 K.

The PT100 interface is included as standard and is supplemented in the control model with a multi-IO port (e.g. for controlling magnetic valves). Thanks to the flexible bath bridge, the IC devices can be mounted on baths of different sizes, with a volume of up to 100 litres. The HBC 5 and HBC 10 heated bath circulators (5 and 10 litres, respectively) heat up rapidly thanks to their high-quality insulation. The drain valve on the front allows the user to fully drain the bath safely.

The RC 2 basic and RC 2 control circulating chillers from IKA are the first tempering solutions for temperatures as low as -20°C. With 400 watts of cooling power (at 20°C), the RC 2 can be used for applications such as cooling IKA rotary evaporators, calorimeters or small laboratory reactors. It offers impressive energy efficiency (with up to 60% less energy required) and a temperature stability of up to  0.05 K. The performance of the RC 2 is sufficient for cooling distillation and extraction equipment.

In accordance with the IKA product policy, all models are available in basic and control versions. Even the basic version offers more than most thermostats of this type. All devices operate with an infinitely adjustable PEEK pressure and suction pump (up to 0.7 bar/26 l/min) which allows for universal use for internal and external tempering tasks in open and closed containers.

Standard USB and RS232 interfaces make it possible to control and monitor the device functions (e.g. with the IKA software labworldsoft). The adjustable safety temperature and the level monitoring make all devices safe to use. In addition to the unique wireless controller, the control versions offer space for ten programs to perform individual procedures.

All devices in the IKA thermostat range meet the most stringent requirements with regard to safety, performance and intelligence.
