Stainless Steel Wash Troughs and Dispensers Range Updated and Extended

Oct 21 2014

Teknomek has extended and redesigned its range of wash troughs and dispensers.

Following user feedback and research, demanding fewer cleaning points and for greater efficiency, Teknomek updated the designs of their wash troughs to ensure the equipment meets the exacting standards of hygiene environments. With a new shape, new features and improved design Teknomek’s wash troughs have reduced dirt traps and improved cleaning effectiveness.

One example of such improvements is the new shape of the trough. Ridges and ledges are now absent from the wash troughs and the number of horizontal surfaces across the product have been successfully reduced. Similarly, the wall-mounted wash troughs no longer have visible screws which has resulted in even fewer dirt traps. Along with lowering the amount of dirt traps within the wash trough and bettering the trough’s levels of hygiene, its new sloped bowl also assists with self-draining. The redesign has made the entire wash trough much less liable to trap dirt, particularly with its dull polished finish.

Despite the change of shape of the new wash trough, the size of the washing area remains the same. This means there is no compromise for users between practicality and hygiene.

Other improvements to the wash troughs include the lowering of the water spout and improved water valve control to prevent splash back. The knee paddles have also been redesigned to increase the surface area enabling easier user operation regardless of user heights.

As with most Teknomek products, the new extended range of wash troughs can be adapted to meet the user’s needs. One optional extra is infra-red or knee (hands-free) operation, designed to reduce surface contamination. The infra-red technology has the option of being either battery or mains operated depending on the user’s requirements.

Teknomek has also extended their stainless steel dispensers range which includes dispensers for wipes, gloves, aprons/gowns, shoe covers, hair nets, beard snoods and soap. The dispensers come in a range of designs including closed, with flaps or with vision panels as well as multiple dispense stations.

Sue Springett, Commercial Manager, from Teknomek commented: “We believe our redesigned and extended range helps organisations fulfil stringent hygienic control.  We listened to feedback and made some design tweaks to minimise dirt traps and improve cleaning efficiency. All of our new products follow the core principles of supporting hygienic control through intelligent design and excellent manufacturing standards while being versatile, built to last and backed by our quick ‘order to out the door’ turnaround time.”
