SampleSeal Tube
Jul 11 2014
The SampleSeal Heat Sealer is a tube heat sealing instrument with
configurations compatible with Thermo Scientific Matrix 96- and 384- format
2D barcoded storage tubes. The instrument will heat seal and individualise
samples for secure, robust storage in less than 60 seconds and can be easily
used on the benchtop or as part of a robotically integrated system.
Quick and reliable sealing for your precious samples. An entire rack of 96 or 384 tubes is sealed and individualised in less than one minute. Application of the 40μm or 25μm foil seal requires minimal heat for effective sealing. Tubes and rack are validated for storage down to the vapour phase of liquid nitrogen.
Compatible with manual or automated processes. Once applied, the seal
leaves a clean edge around each individual tube, ensuring compatibility with
downstream automated storage equipment. No tabs or foil seal overhang left
behind to interfere with picking or robotic handling. Racks of tubes can be
easily loaded and retrieved manually or robotically with the SampleSeal unit.
Simple to operate, the touch-screen graphical user interface allows users to
select labware, identify sealing parameters, and get started quickly and easily.
Optimise storage efficiency. Maximise your storage capacity with higher-density 96 or 384 storage tube format and low profile of an applied seal compared to screw caps or septa-style seals. Store the sealed tubes in the same freezer racking you would use for standard microplates.
System approach. Designed and validated as a system, laboratories can trust that all components will work together optimally out of the box, requiring minimal set up time and yielding maximum storage integrity. Add to this the family of VisionMate 2D Barcode Readers and VisionTracker Software to log and track individual samples and you have a complete sample storage solution.
