Touch Screen Controller for Temperature Stages Launched
May 26 2015
Linkam Scientific Instruments, have upgraded the control systems for their family of temperature stages with the launch of the new LinkPad 2 touch screen system.
The LinkPad 2 has been developed from Linkam's successful stand-alone series of controllers. The key motivation behind its release is to provide users with the ability to control complete experiments from an intuitive touch screen without the need for a PC.
LinkPad 2 is now the flagship controller for the complete range of Linkam's temperature stages. These stages have been individually designed to meet specific applications needs, each calling for a specific range of temperatures combined with the control of one or more physical variables. These include stages where vacuum or pressure may be controlled; where samples may be held under tensile stress; where samples are subjected to a shear force and where environmental control is important, e.g. for choice of gas or relative humidity. Earlier controllers required the PC-based Linksys32 software to set up and control many of these parameters. With the high resolution LCD screen, users can readily navigate through the set up and control of their stage, monitoring the real time status of each of the parameters. Along with the increased functionality, LinkPad 2 has a more ergonomic design.
As Sales and Marketing Manager, Duncan Stacey, said of this launch: “Here at Linkam, we have a proud history of continuous development of our products to keep pace with current technologies, meet the ever-expanding needs of our customers and provide a more intuitive system that improves the user experience. With this in mind, we are proud to announce the release of the new, much-improved LinkPad 2 touch screen controller. Initial feedback from users has been very positive. We hope this will help make our stages more accessible to applications in an even broader range of labs and testing facilities.”
