ChemiDoc-ItTS2 Imagers Feature Enhanced Software Interface

Feb 04 2015

UVP's ChemiDoc-ItTS2 Imagers are designed with high resolution and high sensitivity CCD cameras that are optimised for life science research studies in chemiluminescent, fluorescent, colorimetric and multiplex gel and blot applications. The system’s large 15.6” integrated touch screen with capture software simplifies the imaging workflow. With the implementation of all-new TS2 software, this system features enhanced, easy-to-use One-Touch image capture templates, expanded Capture Modes as well as Image Compositing capabilities.

  • The new image capture templates enable users to define and save settings that can be recalled for later use. According to Mike Capps, UVP’s Marketing Product Manager: "These new templates are helpful not only in achieving consistent, repeatable results, but also save researchers time when conducting repeat experiments in the future. Templates allow users to select and save a variety of system settings, including camera, lens, lighting and emission filter selections, as well as preview and capture binning." Five 'favourite' templates are accessed via One-Touch buttons across the top of the screen. An unlimited number of templates can be saved to the drop down menu.
  • Users can achieve superior captured images with the new Capture Modes. Use the Manual Capture function to capture one or more images with pre-selected exposure times. The Auto Exposure tool calculates the optimal exposure time, then captures an image at that ideal exposure. Capture a series of images with Sequential and Image Integration functions, which aid in fine tuning exposure times particularly for low light samples such as chemiluminescent western blots.
  • The new Image Compositing tool is used to merge multiple image channels into a single, composited image. This tool is useful for images with multiple channel fluorescence (multiplexing) or chemiluminescence white light overlays.

The software is available with multiple language options. English is the default language format and users can select from Chinese (simplified), Turkish, Japanese, Spanish, Korean and Russian for all screen text.

The integrated ChemiDoc-It®TS2 touchscreen computer creates a networkable, stand-alone system, allowing users to save images to USB or networked drive for further quantitative analysis or documentation. Viewing low light samples in the light-tight darkroom which creates an optimal environment for chemiluminescent blots. Film is not required for imaging of chemiluminescent western blots when using the ChemiDoc-ItTS2 Imager.

The modular design allows selection of UV transilluminator, emission filters and optional LED white light plate, blue light plate and UV modules. Add components as required for specific research studies. For example, a BioLite MultiSpectral Light Source can be added for multiplex imaging capabilities. Capture multiple stains on a single blot with the use of added excitation filters in the BioLite.

The ChemiDoc-It®TS2 with the enhanced software interface simplifies the workflow for capture of high quality, high resolution gel and blot images. Click here for system information or to request a brochure.
