Ametek Land India Secures NABL Calibration Lab Accreditation

Sep 13 2015

Ametek Land India announced that it has secured accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for meeting the international standards for calibration laboratories: ISO/IEC-17025:2005. The ISO/IEC 17025 standard specifically evaluates a laboratory’s technical competence, impartiality and performance.

The Ametek Land India laboratory, which was established and began calibration and repair operations in 2011, is the first OEM (original equipment manufacturer)-approved facility to receive NABL accreditation. It is accredited to offer thermal calibration in the range of 0ºC to1600ºC for tests carried out in-house and 0ºC to1200ºC for on-site calibrations. In addition, the laboratory is accredited to ISO9001 for its repair and recalibration services.

The NABL assessment team recognised the Calibration Laboratory’s systems and infrastructure as one of the best it had assessed for non-contact Infrared pyrometer calibration in India. Ametek Land’s NABL certificate carries the ref. no. C-1200.

“This is a very exciting development for our laboratory and is testament to the expertise of our team as well as our investment in training and equipment,” commented Prasath Venkatasamy, Service Manager for Ametek Land India. “We now can offer fully accredited remote temperature measurement and calibration services to customers in a wide range of different industries, which will help us to further develop our business.”

Ametek Land India provides a full service testing, carrying out repairs and recalibration, which can be done at either its customers’ locations or at Ametek Land’s facilities in Bangalore.

“It is important that manufacturers, who rely on accurate temperature measurement for maintaining the highest quality standards, to have their instruments calibrated periodically at an accredited laboratory with the ability to meet to internationally recognised standards,” added Prasath Venkatasamy.
