New Autosampler for Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer

Feb 13 2006

A new autosampler has been introduced by Hitachi High-Technologies for the Z-2300 flame-only atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The SSC-230 will accommodate up to 80 test tubes. With random access autosampling, the SSC-230 reduces sample measurement times and minimizes sample consumption.

The random-access function can be set for each analyte element, allowing automatic measurement of multiple elements. On completion of measurement, the burner chamber is cleaned and then the flame is turned off automatically. Test tube racks are available for 80 x 15 mm diameter test tubes or 56 x 18 mm diameter test tubes. A 50-tube rack is also available for flame emission photometry.

The unique DC polarised Zeeman optics of the flame only Z-2300 feature dual detectors for the sample and reference beams, which allows simultaneous measurement of the two beams and gives true double beam geometry. This allows the lamp to be on for a longer proportion of the measurement cycle. This leads to reduced noise and increased sensitivity and provides outstanding stability for flame work, overcoming traditional difficulties due to flame fluctuations. PC-control and versatile software provides full automation for setting analytical conditions.
