Calibrex™ bottle-top dispensers – safety first when handling chemicals
Apr 04 2023
The CalibrexTM bottle-top dispensers from Socorex are robust precision instruments intended for a safe and reproducible liquid distribution. Directly screwed on the reagent bottle, they limit possible eye or skin contact, or vapours inhalation. The line covers 7 volume ranges: 0.1-1 / 0.25-2.5 / 0.5-5 / 1-10 / 2.5-25 / 5-50 / 10-100 mL. Select the most appropriate model, according to the type of liquid distributed:
CalibrexTM organo 525 includes a ground glass or ceramic plunger, both well suited for organic solvents and non-crystallizing solutions.
CalibrexTM solutae 530 has a PFA coated glass or ceramic plunger for trouble free distribution of salt solutions, weak and strong acids and bases.
To easily check chemical compatibility of CalibrexTM dispensers, a QR code printed on each instrument body gives instant access to the resistance chart. Valves, plunger, barrel, and delivery jet are removable in seconds for cleaning or replacement. If required for instance in microbiology or cell culture laboratories, CalibrexTM dispensers are fully autoclavable at 121°C.
The optional flow control stopcock increases CalibrexTM dispenser safety by recycling reagent directly into the bottle while priming. Other accessories extend working possibilities, such as a 60 cm flexible extension tubing. It allows easy distribution in tube rows. This is very convenient when preparing dilution series.
A dispenser screwed on a small bottle may lack stability. The use of a holder increases stability and eliminates risk of instrument tipping. When different bottles sizes are used with the same dispenser, the telescopic feed tubing is recommended to instantly fit to any bottle size.
