Power Plant Decommissioning Call

A call for collaborative research applications with UK- and Japan-based principal investigators covering key challenges to accelerate the decommissioning of TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant has been announced by EPSRC.
In partnership with the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Science (MEXT), EPSRC will fund the UK-based research and MEXT will fund the Japan-based research components.
Up to £500,000 is available to support a maximum of two UK-based projects. MEXT will fund the component proposals in Japan.
UK-based component proposals must be submitted via the Research Council Joint e-System (Je-S) by 16:00 GMT on 12 July 2018. Please note that this time does not coincide with the Japan closing time, of 16:00 JST on 12 July 2018.
This call represents the fifth phase of the UK-Japan Civil Nuclear Research Programme and it is for small projects of approximately 30 months' duration, with a fixed end date of 31 March 2021.
