Xylem’s analytical instrumentation tackles highly regulated pharma applications

Apr 19 2023

Many manufacturers claim to offer high quality instrumentation, but few can offer precision, repeatability, ease-of-use and conformity right out of the box. Bellingham + Stanley’s range of Digital Refractometers, Polarimeters and Density Meters are packed full of features to tackle difficult samples, and help your workflows run smoothly.

Data integrity is important whatever line of work you’re in, but within the world of pharmaceutical manufacturing ensuring the security of your data is a key component to complying with globally recognised standards. Instruments such as the RFM900-T Series refractometers and ADP600 Series polarimeters include unique software features to help ensure compliance with FDA regulation 21 CFR Part 11 – a stringent regulation regarding electronic records, and requirements for validation, security, authenticity of records and audit trails.

The RFM900-T Series of high precision Peltier temperature-controlled benchtop refractometers feature a wide measuring range up to 1.70 RI (Refractive Index), PEEK spill barrier, and Kalrez® gasket making them ideally suited for use in applications within the chemical, petrochemical, flavours and fragrance industries as well as, importantly, the demanding world of pharmacopeia.

ADP600 Series of polarimeters are available as multiple, dual, or single wavelength models, with readability of optical rotation to 4 decimal places. Featuring XPC technology, Xylem’s patented Peltier temperature control system, in combination with precision optics these high accuracy polarimeters are well suited to applications in regulated environments. For laboratories needing compliance with pharmacopeia but not necessarily requiring the high performance of the ADP600 Series, the ADP450 is the ideal choice.

The ADP450 is a fully featured single wavelength digital polarimeter offering XPC temperature control and all the compliance benefits of a premium model, whilst operating at 3 decimal places.

New from Bellingham + Stanley, and completing a suite of instrumentation dating back 100 years, are the DSG Series Density Meters. These density meters provide measurement by way of oscillating U-tube alongside a reference oscillator for enhanced drift protection. Available in 2 unique models offering users flexibility over accuracy and precision, both models come with Peltier temperature control, a robust hi-res touchscreen and are compatible with your FDA 21 CFR Part 11 workflows.

GLP dictates that instruments should be kept in good working order and be regularly calibrated using traceable standards. Bellingham + Stanley, a UKAS accredited calibration laboratory No. 0834, offers a choice of materials suitable for use with different instrument types and applications.

Bellingham + Stanley, a Xylem brand, boasts local support wherever you are in the world, with knowledgeable teams across all applications, including pharma. They understand that it isn’t enough to just offer high quality instrumentation and have made a name for themselves by engaging with customers from start to finish. From design qualification consultation through to full validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).

Within the UK and USA Bellingham + Stanley offers preventative maintenance programs either on-site at customer premises by fully trained, experienced engineers, or at their dedicated service centres for customers that require regular servicing of equipment.
