CEO Harriet Fear Awarded MBE
Jun 27 2016
One Nucleus is delighted to announce that Chief Executive, Harriet Fear, has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List. The award is in recognition of Harriet’s services to the ‘healthcare and life sciences’ sector.
Having joined One Nucleus as Chief Executive in February 2009, Harriet previously worked as a Diplomat with the British Foreign Office for 21 years serving in over 17 countries around the globe. Half her career was spent in the commercial field, latterly heading UK Trade & Investments’ national life sciences trade team for over 5 years. During her varied Foreign Office career she was Deputy Ambassador three times, Private Secretary to the Minister for Europe, led an evacuation of Brits out of the Congo and worked in Khymer Rouge territory with Scotland Yard on a hostage crisis.
Wanting to help companies maximise their competitiveness, she and her team redefined One Nucleus’ membership to include not only biotech but also the life science and healthcare sectors forming strong and strategic relations with like-minded counterparts around the globe and merged the former organisation (known as ERBI) with the London Biotechnology Network to enhance the offer to members and create a stronger critical mass on the international stage.
Jon Green, Chair of One Nucleus, on behalf of the One Nucleus Board said “We are delighted that Harriet has been recognised for her contribution to life sciences and healthcare by the award of an MBE. It is a testament to her hard work and influence across the sector in the UK and across the globe.”
