Multi N/C 2100 for TOC/TNB Analysis of Wastewater, Soil and Sediment

Nov 19 2008

The entry-level multi N/C 2100 catalytic combustion analyser from Analytik Jena (Germany) is ideally suited to simultaneous TOC/TNb analyses of a wide range of effluent, wastewater, soil and sediment samples. Very high combustion temperatures, selective high-sensitivity detectors for carbon and nitrogen, a double furnace configuration
and simple-to-use software allow liquid and solid samples and liquids containing particulates to be measured with ease.
High temperature catalytic combustion results in complete oxidation of
samples to CO2 or NO. CO2 is detected by non dispersive infrared (NDIR) and NO is detected by chemiluminescence (CLD) providing a TOC detection limit of 200 ppb and TNb detection limit of 100 ppb. TIC, TC, NPOC, POC measurements can also be made. The Multi N/C series meets the requirements of DIN-EN, USEPA, ASTM, FDA and USP standards.
Combustion temperatures up to 850°C ensure that even organic compounds
of high thermal stability are completely broken down. The versatile double furnace configuration can be oriented either for solid or liquid samples with easy switching between the two configurations. No additional solids module is required. For the most demanding solid samples, an optional High-Temperature Solids Combustion System is available with a furnace temperature up to 1,300°C.
Liquid samples up to 500 ìl are directly injected into a septum-free sluice with the aid of a microliter syringe without tubing or valves. This arrangement is particularly suitable for water samples containing particles. An optional xyz autosampler for up to 60 vials of 10 ml is also available. This allows each sample to be individually stirred which is also important for the analysis of samples containing particles.
The easy to use multiWin® control and analysis software not only offers
comprehensive automation of analysis, from selection of liquid and solid samples to the set up of calibration curves, but also conforms to FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
Measured data is saved to a database compliant to relevant standards.
Different user levels, electronic signatures and the audit trail are easily traceable and satisfy the requirements of CFR 21 Part 11.
