Flow-Cal Launches CALCit.Cloud to Deliver On-Demand Measurement Calculations

Nov 11 2017

Flow-Cal, Inc. the market leader in measurement data management for natural gas and petroleum liquids, has developed CALCit.Cloud, a new cloud-based service that provides on-demand measurement calculations.

CALCit.Cloud service joins Flow-Cal’s suite of products supporting current calculation libraries. Flow-Cal’s CALCit application uses the latest industry standard calculations, allowing users to perform various spot calculations, including gas volume, plate size, liquid correction factors and speed of sound. Flow-Cal also offers these same industry standard calculations as subroutines available as source code in C computer language, or as a DLL that can be integrated into other applications.

Subscribers to the CALCit.Cloud service can request measurement calculations via a cloud-based platform hosted by Flow-Cal. The calculations are then processed through a database and the results are returned to the subscriber. This service can be used to create custom measurement applications that support current calculation libraries, helping users maintain contract compliance, and minimise operation and maintenance costs.

“Our customers and the industry have expressed a need for a convenient way to access industry calculations, from a company they know and trust, to embed within their own systems,” says Flower Pledger, Vice President of Product Management. “We developed an innovative solution for performing these types of measurement calculations. For example, when a subscriber to CALCit.Cloud provides a density, pressure and temperature, along with a commodity type of their fluid, the CTL and CPL will be calculated and returned instantaneously.”

For the initial launch of this web service, CALCit.Cloud supports API calculations 11.1 (2004) Tables A through D and 11.2.4 (2007) Table E. Future plans for this product will include the addition of gas and liquid calculations from AGA, API and GPA.
