Fully Automated EPA Approved “Kelada-01” Total Cyanide Method on the Skalar San++ Analyzer
Feb 23 2010
Skalar is continuously developing and integrating new automated applications for the San++ Continuous Flow Analyzer. Currently there are over 800 methods available to meet the parameter requirements of various industries.
Skalar’s most recent development is the implementation of the Kelada-01 method for the determination of total cyanide, acid dissociable cyanide and thiocyanate. This method is in compliance with EPA-821-B-01-009 and “Method Kelada-01” is approved and adapted in the Federal Register (40 CFR 122, 136) for drinking water and waste water.
The Kelada cyanide method uses a combined inline UV irradiation and flash distillation system instead of the classical manual cyanide distillation procedures to determine total cyanide. The Kelada-Skalar method
requires little or no manual sample pre-treatment. The entire test is performed on-line in less than a few minutes. This unique Kelada method is only approved on the Skalar San++ analyzer.
With a wide variety of analysis methods available, such as total cyanide, the Skalar San++ is the preferred choice for automating wet chemistry applications in many industries.
