Quantum Science, a pioneer in infrared quantum dot (QD) technology, has appointed Shimura Masayuki as its new Commercialisation Director to spearhead the company's rapid growth in international semiconductor markets.

Based in Japan, a crucial hub for imaging and sensing technology, Mr Masayuki brings over 40 years of industry expertise, specialising in CMOS image sensor design, camera system development, and cutting-edge imaging technology research. His distinguished career includes senior leadership roles at renowned companies such as Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Huawei, and SK Hynix. Mr. Masayuki has also authored 80 publications, including 70 patents.

Dr Hao Pang, CEO and Founder of Quantum Science, commented on the appointment, stating: "Shimura-san's extensive experience gives him a profound understanding of our customers and markets. He will be a valuable addition to our team. As INFIQ® infrared QD technology approaches consumer markets, Mr Masayuki's appointment underscores our commitment to providing the finest QD materials, technologies, and solutions to our valuable customers. I am confident he will excel in driving the business's growth."

This appointment follows Quantum Science's expansion in Japan last year when it secured a distribution agreement with Nishimura Chemitech, extending the reach of its INFIQ® QDs to leading semiconductor companies worldwide.

Mr Masayuki expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I am thrilled to join Quantum Science as Commercialisation Director at this pivotal juncture. With INFIQ® QDs poised to revolutionise imaging and sensing markets, the potential for commercial development is substantial. I look forward to collaborating with the outstanding team that has positioned Quantum Science as a global leader and contributing to the company's continued success and growth."
