HPLC Syringe Filters with Glass Fibre Prefilter

Besides their standard economy range of ProFillTM HPLC Syringe Filters La-Pha-Pack have launched their new ProFillTM -PLUS range of Filters with glass fiber prefilter.

The PP-housing of this type of filter actually accommodates two membranes: the Glass Fibre Prefilter membrane with a pore size of 1-2µ for a prefiltration of the bigger particles of particle-loaded media and the actual membrane for the fine filtration. Thus the glass fibre prefilter prevents blockage/bursting of the actual membrane which can either be Regenerated Cellulose, Nylon (PA), PTFE or PVDF in pore sizes of 0.2µm or 0.45µm. The ProFillTM -PLUS Syringe filters furthermore are characterized by an increased pressure resistance (Pressure rating: 7bar = 700kPa) which is achieved by an injection moulded ring around the housing. It also improves the fixation of prefilter and membrane in the housing, so that a by-passing of sample liquid is impossible. Besides the colour coding of the housing, the additional print of the appropriate membrane type and pore size on the filter excludes possible confusions in usage and thus increases product safety. A 25mm ProFillTM -PLUS HPLC Syringe Filter with just a glass fibre membrane is also available and can be used pre-installed to a normal filter as a further filtration unit. All 25mm ProFillTM and ProFillTM -PLUS HPLC Syringe Filters are available with 100 pieces packed in a tamper-evident zip-lock bag, additionally protected by a blue recloseable PP-box.
