An award of CHF 50,000 grant is being offered by the Arcondis Foundation to a life sciences start-up dedicated to creating positive social impact.

The Swiss Foundation, which fully owns the Arcondis Group (Allschwil, Basel) was established in 2017 to create shared value for all stakeholders, promoting sustainable employment in the business as well as supporting social responsibility projects.

“Through the Foundation, we encourage Arcondis Group employees to get involved in pro bono projects, creating additional opportunities for knowledge transfer and promoting innovation. The grant opportunity illustrates our commitment to sustainability, the development of the life sciences and healthcare sector and the supportive role that we’d like to play in creating growth opportunities for start-ups,” said founder and chairman of both enterprises, Christian Baumgartner.

The criteria for selection includes several key factors: alignment with the core values of Arcondis; a well-defined and impactful mission and vision aimed at tackling significant societal challenges; a detailed plan outlining how the grant funds will be utilised; evidence of the scalability of the solution to amplify its social impact and a comprehensive understanding of the start-up’s competitive positioning within the relevant market landscape.

"Sustainability is a priority for the Arcondis Foundation and we look forward to engaging with start-ups to grow our commitment to ensuring environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and promoting economic prosperity for future generations," added Christian Baumgartner.

“As a professional services company specialising in the life sciences and healthcare sector, we are excited about the prospects that this grant for start-ups represents. Giving back to the community adds a valuable dimension to our employees’ work experience and it supports our vision of making healthcare better, globally,” said Christian Hebich, CEO of the Arcondis Group.

The submission window will remain open until May 15th, with the grant recipient to be announced on September 2024.
