New kit effortlessly extracts gDNA from FFPE tissue

The new MagSi-DNA FFPE kit from AMSBIO facilitates the rapid and effortless extraction of genomic DNA (gDNA) from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues or cells of mammals.

Cutting-edge magnetic bead technology

Utilising a magnetic bead technology exclusive to its development, the MagSi-DNA FFPE kit is applicable for both manual and automated retrieval of gDNA from mammalian FFPE tissues or cell specimens.

Efficient and safe sample processing

The traditional phenol/chloroform extraction or alcohol precipitation procedures, as well as repetitive centrifugation, vacuum filtration, or column separations, are not necessary when using the kit. This reduces the preparation time for 96 samples to a mere 40 minutes after paraffin removal and lysis incubation. The kit is structured to ensure secure handling of potentially infectious samples and avoid cross-contamination between samples.

The MagSi-DNA FFPE kit is fully compatible with the majority of commercial liquid handling robots, and consistently produces high-quality genomic DNA yields. The obtained DNA exhibits a high level of purity and can be directly employed for various downstream applications, such as PCR, NGS, and enzymatic reactions.

The MagSi-DNA FFPE kit can isolate and potentially co-purify RNA, depending on the nature of the sample materials. If co-purification is desired, an extra RNase treatment step must be incorporated into the purification protocol.
