Mercury is an extremely hazardous environmental pollutant and exists in a large number of physical and chemical forms. For example, in sediments methylmercury is present in greater concentrations than other organic forms and the potentially less toxic inorganic compounds. As all forms of mercury are poisonous, it is therefore important to determine the total mercury in such samples.

The Milestone DMA range of mercury analysers from Analytix provide accurate and low level measurements of solids, liquids, and gases in under six minutes without sample digestion or wet chemistry before the analysis takes place. Removing the current lengthy sample preparation stage means ease of use, low running costs and no need for hazardous chemicals to purchase, handle and dispose.

An application report highlighting the advantage of this technology in analysing soil, sediment, and waste water samples is available, for more information visit www.analytix.co.uk/sales/ or call 0844 800 4220.
