PGEs are among the most valuable precious metals and are used in jewellery plus play an important role in catalytic converters in vehicles.

As they are chemically inert they can prove difficult to be digested for ICP analysis. Hot plate systems are often not the right solution since they don’t provide the correct temperature and pressure to assure complete digestion.

A single chamber microwave system from Milestone overcomes these difficulties as it can achieve high temperatures and pressures for the extended periods required to digest these PGEs.
