The DosaPrep X8, from SMI-Labhut Ltd, has been designed to quickly and safely prepare and dispense dissolution media. Fully compliant with the USP, EP, FDA, GLP/GMP recommendations and regulations, it is capable of processing up to 8 litres of dissolution media in a single operation.

The media, which may be a combination of water and acid or buffer, is filtered, warmed, mixed and degassed under vacuum. The degassed media is then dispensed by weight in individual lots with an accuracy inside the USP guidelines. The complete automated sequence is accurately monitored and each dispensed volume can be printed out or sent to a computer for extra validation documentation.

A special continuous-flow inline heater warms the media to the desired temperature before degassing takes place. This promotes improved degassing and saves considerable time when heating in the dissolution tester thus reducing the chances of the media "regassing". The DosaPrep X8 achieves optimum degassing by exposing the warmed incoming media to a constant vacuum together with continuous mixing via the electronic stirrer.

DosaPrep X8 is able to degas virtually all types of dissolution media and will also mix acid and water together automatically and accurately to reduce risk to laboratory personnel.
