CoolLED Ltd. is pleased to announce the latest additions to its pE-series of LED illumination units for fluorescence microscopy.  The pE-200 has two LED illumination colours and is available in several popular configurations.  The pE-300 unit has a standard three LED illumination colour configuration.  Users can select based on their own particular requirements.  The units fit most current and older microscopes.

The majority of common fluorescent stains can be excited by these units, making them perfect for most hospital and general fluorescence microscopy applications.  By focusing on the popular fluorescent stains, the company has been able to develop illumination units which are compact, controllable, and cost-effective.

As many hospitals and universities are actively-seeking to eradicate mercury-based products from their facilities, the benefit of these safe and environmentally-friendly illumination sources which do not use mercury will be appreciated.  In addition, the long lifetime provided by LED illumination and their ease-of-use makes LEDs popular with microscope users.

Managing Director, Nick Edwards, said, “Microscope users now recognize the benefits of LEDs and have been asking for simple replacements to their mercury lamps.  I am pleased that the new pE-200 and pE-300 units provide the performance they require in an attractive package.”

CoolLED is a UK-based manufacturer of LED illumination products.  The company was the first to introduce a commercially-available LED illumination unit for fluorescence microscopy and continues to develop products for the Life Sciences and other markets.
