There are not many companies that can boast a year on year sales increase from inception, but Heathrow Scientific, based in Vernon Hills Illinois, a manufacturer of what they like to call ‘Lab Essentials’ launched in 1996, is in this minority category and they continue to plan ahead to make sure the next 17 years follow the same trend.

Besides an aggressive and ambitious program to launch 8-15 new innovative manufactured products each year, ensuring their valued network of worldwide distributors always has something new to talk about, they have recently invested in bringing in Gary Kamees, a former VP of Cardinal Health. Gary will head up Clinical Sales and their ambition to becoming a more formidable entity in the Clinical Marketplace.

Gary’s intention is to create stronger bonds with existing distributors and to develop ties with new strategic partners, offering both branded and private label product opportunities. Having seen the type of quality products that Heathrow offer and what is in the pipeline to come, made taking this challenge an easy decision for Gary, who can only see exciting times ahead for the company.

Founded by brothers Jim and Rick Woldenberg, Heathrow Scientific specialises in manufacturing laboratory supplies and instruments along with general laboratory products and consumables found in research and clinical laboratories worldwide.

From tube racks to benchtop centrifuges the company’s mission has been to enlighten and excite the culture of laboratories worldwide through the design of fun, functional and innovative products. An international company, it has sales offices in the UK, Mexico and Germany.

Managing Director Jamie Devine said that while the US and western European regions still account for majority of sales, the company has established distribution partners in over 70 countries and are continuing to grow worldwide.
