The partnership between Anthias Consulting and Chemass d.o.o. is a great example of how a supplier and end-user     can work together over the long term to deliver exceptional outcomes in science, service, and customer support. What began in 2008 as a professional collaboration has evolved into a dynamic and trusted relationship that continues to thrive in 2025. The collaboration has spanned a wide range of training events  and consultancy support, covering both fundamental principles of gas chromatography (GC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS ), and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) as well as the practical use of related software solutions. 

Chemass d.o.o., based in Slovenia, is a respected authorized distributor of Agilent Technologies, providing high-quality analytical instruments, including gas and liquid chromatographs, , mass spectrometers and PCR/QPCR systems, alongside instrumentation from other manufacturers including Gerstel and Markes International sample preparation and introduction instruments, to laboratories across chemical and molecular biology sectors. Beyond supplying these instruments, Chemass offers critical maintenance and technical support, ensuring that laboratories run smoothly and efficiently.

Complementing this technical offering, Anthias Consulting provides tailored training and consultancy to Chemass' customers, technicians and engineers empowering them to not only use their instruments but to understand them further, developing new methods, optimising existing methods and troubleshooting them.

A recent example of their collaboration perfectly illustrates why this partnership deserves recognition. As Chemass introduced more advanced GC-QQQMS (Triple Quadrupole GC-MS) systems to their portfolio, they brought in Anthias to provide in-depth, hands-on training. This began with a day of foundational education at Chemass’ own facilities, delivered to both Chemass engineers and end-users from two different companies. 

Anthias then followed up with on-site, two-day tailored training sessions at each customer’s location. These sessions weren’t just about running instruments—they focused on each lab’s specific setup, workflows, and analytical challenges. Customers received targeted support that addressed long-standing issues and dramatically improved their confidence and proficiency.

The impact was immediate and significant. One customer summed it up best: “I learned more in three days than I had in a whole year of trying to teach myself.”

Chemass don’t only sell instruments from Agilent Technologies but, provide solutions using the latest technology from a range of manufacturers. Anthias Consulting is well suited to support these solutions, being manufacturer independent but also having vast experience and regularly using most instrumentation from most analytical manufacturers, as well as having had manufacturer’s training. An example of this is a solution provided to a Slovenian University based on the Agilent single quadrupole GC-MS with a Gerstel MPS autosampler for headspace and SPME alongside a Markes International thermal desorption system .
