Preparative Scale Chromatography now Available at the Laboratory Bench
Jan 15 2009
Liquid chromatography innovator Dynamic Extractions Midi High Performance Countercurrent Chromatography (HPCCC) instrument now enables chemists and chromatographer alike, to perform high-resolution chromatography and high sample injection masses on the laboratory bench. The Midi HPCCC is able to offer sample injection loadings of between 20 – 25 grams that allows upwards of 250 grams of crude sample to be processes in an 8-hour period. This instrument is ideally suited to the pharmaceutical development environment.
Another important advantage that HPCCC instruments bring to the laboratory is their extremely low usage of solvent. HPCCC uses 1/10th to 1/5th of the solvent that either preparative HPLC or Flash chromatography would use to process the same sample mass. Therefore, the time required and equipment required for handling and disposal of the solvent is significantly reduced.
Finally, HPCCC is also an isocratic chromatography so all solvent used can be recycled therefore completely minimising solvent usage.
