Automated Gas Standards Generator
Jan 21 2009
Kin-Tek’s new FlexStream™ automated gas standards generating instrument offers total flexibility for creating precision gas mixtures. Mixtures are produced by diluting the emission from
permeation tubes, or diffusion tubes with an inert diluent, typically nitrogen or zero air. The FlexStream™ is ideally suited for creating trace concentration – ppm, ppb, and pptr – mixtures. An
internal microprocessor sets the operating mode and adjusts dilution flows to achieve desired concentrations.
The FlexStream™ is built around a microprocessorcontrolled, stand-alone Permeation Tube Unit. This unit provides a temperature controlled permeation tube oven, front panel touch-screen interface and dilution flow controls. The FlexStream™ is small, easily transportable, and easily integrated with other Kin-Tek™ gas mixing systems. Mixtures containing up to 8 components are possible with the stand-alone FlexStream™ unit. The FlexStream™ can use all Trace Source™ permeation and diffusion tubes, as well as tubes from most other manufacturers.
The FlexStream™ can also be controlled remotely by a PC or process computer using Modbus connectivity. Using an external PC allows remote control of the FlexStream™, uploading
methods that can run automatically, and evaluating ‘scenarios’ to aid in setting up the unit to create specific mixture concentration ranges.
