Sigma-Aldrich use Metrohm ProcessLab to Increase Sample Throughput
Aug 17 2011
Sigma-Aldrich is a world leading manufacturer of fine chemicals for R&D in chemistry and biochemistry. In Steinheim, Germany, they rely on a Metrohm ProcessLab to cope with the high throughput and daily changing chemical products manufactured in their state-of-the-art production facility.
“By titration alone we determine 10,000 different chemicals. 75% of those applications are carried out on our Metrohm ProcessLab”, says Dr Helmut George, Production Manager at Sigma-Aldrich in Steinheim. Their ProcessLab system is a custom solution provided by Deutsche Metrohm Prozessanalytik, who were happy to meet the high demands placed on the system by Sigma-Aldrich’s application chemists.
“We can choose the appropriate method for each product without having to change the exchange unit,” said Application Chemist Daniel Matuschka, pointing out the major benefit of Sigma-Aldrich’s ProcessLab system. “This system operates fully automatically,” Matuschka continues, “including solving, titrating, rinsing and disposing of the sample”.
