ESA Biosciences, a subsidiary of Magellan Biosciences, Inc., has announced a new HPLC pump optimised for electrochemical detectors used in analytical, microbore and LC/MS applications.

The ESA Model 584 solvent delivery module offers leading-edge flow-rate accuracy and precision (0.0001 10 mL / minute) through improvements in solvent-delivery control firmware. With an automatic pulsation-correction mechanism and high-speed micro (10?l) plunger drive, the new pump achieves pulse-free solvent delivery even at micro-flow-rate ranges below 50µL/min. Durable sapphire plungers and a precision dual parallel plunger-holding mechanism provide long-lasting performance and enable highly stable pulse-free solvent delivery. Pump reliability is enhanced through automatic seal and piston washing that prolongs piston seal life.

The Model 584 incorporates comprehensive electronic diagnostics for easy user maintenance. Advanced, yet simple fluidics makes the Model 584 very reliable and easy to service. A range of safety controls including high pressure/ low pressure set limits and liquid-leakage sensor come as standard.
