High-throughput Sample Processing with Peri-analytical Capability.
Jan 25 2007
The Olympus OLA2500 fully automates pre- and post-analytical sample handling steps in clinical laboratories. It offers unlimited system access, provides total flexibility and requires minimum hands on
time, OLA2500 accepts 300 sample tubes in the input area with continuous sample reloading capabilities.
After barcodes are read, tubes pass a camera that identifies tube type and size and can also recognise cap colour. All commonly used tubes can be decapped. Using disposable tips to eliminate carryover, the aliquoting unit can produce up to six daughter tubes from a single primary tube. The daughter tubes are barcode-labelled automatically. Finally, tubes move to the output area, which holds up to 1080 sample in output drawers that are accessible at any time. The OLA2500 operates at a throughput of up to 1200 tubes/hour. Archiving is carried out in parallel with sorting and aliquoting whilst input and output drawers accept Olympus and third-party sample racks.
