Fibre Optic Uv Tablet Testing
Jun 19 2006
Fibre optic UV analysis of tablets in the testing vessel is the latest advance in Dissolution Testing and this new technique allows measurements to be made even in turbid solutions.
Making a series of UV measurements ?in situ' eliminates sampling errors and complicated media loss calculations usually required when some sample solution has been removed for analysis. This is not the case for the OPT DISS? because the measurements are made in the sample vessel and the vessel need not be removed.
OPT DISS? measurements are made continuously, in real time, and data from up to 12 vessels can be collected in 5 seconds considerably shortening the analysis time, increasing the method's accuracy and improving the profile analysis.
Due to the class leading sensitivity of the OPT DISS? detector the system can be used with almost ANY fibre optic probe using path lengths from 0.5mm to 50mm. This includes the unique, patented ARCH? probe whose low volume design has a negligible affect on the hydrodynamics of the media in the dissolution vessel.
Although the OPT DISS? is an ideal match for the DISTEK Tablet Dissolution systems it is compatible with a large number of other dissolution test systems.
21 CFR PART II compliance offers the level of confidence and security needed by modern pharmaceutical laboratories.
