A recent example of these capabilities is the successful development of a bespoke 1700°C Dynamic Corrosion Furnace. This system is built on the Top Loading Chamber Furnace (TLCF) platform and incorporates a precision motorised rotating spindle assembly. This allows refractory test samples to be immersed and rotated within a molten glass environment at full operating temperature.

This dynamic testing approach is designed to closely replicate the real-world erosive and corrosive conditions found inside industrial glass melting furnaces. As a result, materials scientists can more accurately evaluate refractory performance, predict furnace campaign life, and significantly accelerate research and development programmes.
