Agilent Technologies kicked off the Total Agilent Experience Symposium in Kuala Lumpur where Agilent representatives and customers outlined their efforts in addressing key analytical opportunities in Asia. The event will move to Singapore and finally to Bangkok, Thailand. Held for the first time in the South East Asia region, Agilent’s Regional Marketing Director, Robert Solazzo, identified three key trends in Asia: the lack of a global standard methodology for halal food safety; consumer safety, in particular, environmental testing; and clinical research and pharmaceutical developments. “These three major trends represent an opportunity for us to collaborate with our partners to co-develop solutions to these issues,” said Solazzo. He continued: “Since we began operations here more than 40 years ago, Agilent has expanded our reach and we are well equipped to provide the most comprehensive portfolio to address our customers’ analytical requirements.”

Building on these key issues, Agilent also showcased their range of instruments, including the next-generation Cary 60 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer designed to improve workflow in a wide variety of settings, including chemical, industrial, academic and pharmaceutical/biotech laboratories. “The Cary 60 UV-Vis builds on more than 60 years of optical design excellence from the Cary brand and is backed by Agilent’s commitment to quality and support,” said Solazzo. “This new instrument expands Agilent’s already comprehensive portfolio of analytical solutions and through our technical innovations, talent development, and world-class team, we have the capabilities to address some of Asia’s biggest issues.”
