Strategic appointment to accelerate US expansion

Clean Biologics, a provider of biosafety testing and biomanufacturing services for biopharmaceutical developers, has named Laurent Claisse as its new CEO. The appointment signals a strategic shift toward strengthening the company’s presence in North America, following its recent acquisition of US-based Karyologic, a cytogenetics specialist located in North Carolina’s growing biotech corridor.

Claisse brings extensive international experience, having held senior operational roles at Sartorius and several Danaher companies including Pall Corporation and Molecular Devices. He succeeds Joseph Jammal, who led Clean Biologics through five years of significant growth, particularly strengthening operations at subsidiary Clean Cells and solidifying the group’s reputation as a European leader in biotherapy quality control.

Backed by ARCHIMED, the healthcare-focused private equity firm, Clean Biologics posted €30 million in revenue in 2024, with 20% generated in the US. The group now aims to use Claisse’s North American track record to scale its reach in the competitive biologics services market, expanding commercial and operational capacity while retaining its European strengths.
