Acquisition strengthens sustainability and applied science services

16 Jun, 2026

Fera Science has acquired sustainability consultancy 3Keel Group, strengthening its position as a provider of integrated scientific and advisory services across environmental, food and life science markets.

The deal combines Fera’s applied laboratory and field science capabilities with 3Keel’s expertise in sustainability strategy, supply chains and environmental consultancy. The aim is to deliver more joined-up solutions that link scientific measurement with practical sustainability insight for clients operating in complex regulatory and environmental landscapes.

3Keel, founded in 2013, is recognised for its evidence-led approach to sustainability across food systems, supply chains and landscapes, helping organisations assess risk and improve resilience.

Fera Chief Executive Dr Andrew Swift said: “Bringing together Fera and 3Keel creates a unique platform that combines world-class scientific expertise with leading sustainability advisory capability. This strengthens our ability to help clients address climate risk, improve resilience and deliver long-term impact.”

3Keel Managing Director Simon Miller added: “Joining Fera allows us to extend the reach and impact of our work by combining our advisory expertise with Fera’s scientific capability and research infrastructure, enabling new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.”

Backed by Bridgepoint, the acquisition forms part of Fera’s wider growth strategy through both organic expansion and targeted acquisitions. The group now employs more than 550 staff and continues to expand its services across global markets.

Integration of the two organisations will begin immediately, with a focus on maintaining continuity for existing clients while developing new cross-disciplinary services.
