AI agent platform set to transform healthcare operations in Japan

08 Sep, 2025

Fujitsu has developed an AI agent platform aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring stable service delivery in Japan’s healthcare sector.

The system uses a central ‘orchestrator’ AI agent to coordinate a range of task-specific agents for medical workflows, including data structuring and interoperability monitoring. By automating these processes, the platform is expected to ease staff workloads, improve resource allocation, and shorten patient waiting times.

Trials will take place in 2025 with leading medical institutions and international partners to evaluate its effectiveness and build tailored healthcare-focused AI agents. The project, developed with support from NVIDIA, is intended to support the wider adoption of advanced operational practices across Japan’s healthcare system.
