UK-based clinical trial site management organisation Panthera Biopartners has expanded into mainland Europe with the acquisition of Hungarian research network OEC.
The deal adds four clinical research sites in Hungary, including a flagship Budapest location, and marks Panthera’s first step in its European expansion strategy.
OEC runs more than 60 clinical trials across Phase II–IV studies and operates a community-based model designed to improve patient recruitment and trial efficiency.
Panthera said the combined network will strengthen access to patients across the UK and EU, supporting faster and more efficient clinical trial delivery for pharmaceutical and CRO partners.
Stuart Young, CEO of Panthera Biopartners, said the acquisition creates a stronger platform for delivering trials at scale across multiple regions.
OEC Managing Director Gábor Kiss said joining Panthera would enable the organisation to expand its capabilities and reach while maintaining its focus on quality and patient-centred research.
The acquisition follows investment from LDC and BGF, supporting Panthera’s international growth strategy.
