Strategic partnership accelerates transition to sustainable lab practices

A major step toward greener science lands in the UK as Wildcat Laboratory Solutions partners with US-based sustainability pioneer PulpFixin. The collaboration brings PulpFixin’s fully compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable alternatives to single-use plastics straight to pharmaceutical and biotech labs across the UK and Europe.

From cryogenic storage to high-throughput automation, PulpFixin’s sustainable alternatives - including AutoRacks™ and Cryoboxes - are designed to withstand tough lab conditions without costing the earth. Each product is made from recycled or sustainably sourced materials and finished with FutureFilm™, a fossil fuel–free barrier that resists moisture and contamination.

“UK labs are under increasing pressure to hit sustainability targets without compromising performance,” said Haakon Howard, Managing Director of Wildcat Laboratory Solutions. “PulpFixin delivers exactly what our customers need: automation-ready, high-performance products that align with their environmental goals.”

“We’re excited to introduce our zero-waste lab solutions to the UK and EU through this partnership,” added Kip Matthews, President of PulpFixin. “It’s about more than just product - it’s about driving a shift away from single-use plastics in science.”

PulpFixin and Wildcat aim to support the UK’s net zero ambitions by helping labs transition to more sustainable practices without sacrificing precision, safety, or performance. Scientists can see these innovations in action at SLAS Europe in Hamburg, 20–22 May 2025, where PulpFixin products will feature on stand 205.

PulpFixin has built its reputation on designing high-performance, zero-waste alternatives to traditional lab plastics, and this partnership marks its first major move into the UK and EU markets.

Wildcat Laboratory Solutions supplies lab automation equipment, consumables, and services across the UK and EU. Known for its innovative, scalable, and customer-focused approach, the company helps research labs stay at the forefront of discovery with tailored, high-performance solutions.
