Azenta Life Sciences has developed the CryoPod™ Carrier - a lightweight, handheld solution for the secure transport of temperature-sensitive biological samples. Delivering cryogenic protection below -150 °C for over three hours, the CryoPod Carrier offers portability, safety, and temperature traceability across the critical last mile of the cold chain.

Maintaining cold-chain integrity during sample transfers between labs or storage facilities can be a major challenge, particularly for high-value or temperature-critical biomaterials. The CryoPod Carrier addresses this risk by preventing transient warming events that could compromise sample quality or viability.

Weighing under 6 kg, the compact CryoPod Carrier is engineered for short-range sample transport within or between labs. Unlike improvised solutions or dry ice alternatives, it ensures samples remain in a validated cryogenic environment throughout the journey - while monitoring and logging key data such as internal temperature, time, and date.

The CryoPod Carrier integrates seamlessly into laboratory workflows and supports regulatory compliance by storing a full event log that can be downloaded for audit purposes. An onboard display and alarms offer real-time visibility of cryogenic conditions, giving researchers peace of mind that their materials remain protected.

For added convenience and user safety, Azenta also offers an automated filling station. This accessory enables hands-free liquid nitrogen refills in under 15 minutes - reducing exposure and enhancing lab efficiency.
