Saccharide analysis is of great importance in the food industry. Typically, amino bonded HPLC columns have been used for the analysis of mono- and oligosaccharides. Conventional aminopropyl bonded phases may produce tailing peaks due to adsorption, particularly for aldehyde containing saccharides, and have low column lifetime.

Nacalai Tesque, Inc has introduced COSMOSIL Sugar-D, a novel alternative to aminopropyl based HPLC phases. It exhibits superior durability and improved peak shapes due to minimised undesirable adsorption. Nacalai Tesque also offers the COSMOSIL NH2-MS column range for saccharide analysis. For further details on either column range, and details of our reduced cost evaluation column programme, please contact authorised distributor Hichrom Ltd.
