High-throughput pipetting streamlines immunology workflows

04 Jun, 2026

An immunology research group at an Ivy League university is using VIAFLO 96 and VIAFLO 384 handheld electronic pipettes from Integra Biosciences to increase the speed and consistency of its ELISA workflows. The multi-channel systems simplify the repetitive liquid handling steps required for immunoassays, helping researchers process large numbers of samples more efficiently.

The group performs numerous ELISAs every day, making workflow efficiency a priority. According to a PhD student in the laboratory, the pipettes have become an essential part of routine assay preparation, enabling faster plate handling while reducing manual effort.

The team has also begun using programmable automation functions to further improve accuracy and throughput. In addition, the repeat dispense mode has proved valuable for protein purification and sample aliquoting, significantly reducing processing times and freeing researchers to focus on other laboratory tasks.

Beyond the pipetting systems, the group uses a range of liquid handling products throughout the lab, including VOYAGER adjustable tip spacing pipettes and PIPETBOY acu 2 serological pipet controllers.

The researchers also highlighted the value of Integra's ongoing technical support and training in helping staff get the most from their workflows.
