OHAUS has introduced the new Explorer Balance Series, combining more than 100 years of precision-engineering expertise with the latest advances in laboratory weighing technology. 

The new Explorer Series consists of two complementary ranges: Explorer EXR and the advanced Explorer Plus EXP. 

Together, they provide laboratories with a flexible choice of analytical, semi-micro and precision balances, as well as high-capacity models in the EXP range.

Precision and performance with EXR

The Explorer EXR range is designed to deliver dependable accuracy and consistent performance across a wide variety of laboratory applications. Its advanced weighing system, protected load cell and square weighing pan support stable and repeatable measurements, even in demanding laboratory environments.

Internal automatic calibration helps maintain accuracy as laboratory conditions change, while the integrated ioniser reduces the effects of static electricity—an important benefit when weighing powders, plastics, filters and other static-sensitive samples.

Advanced usability with EXP

For laboratories seeking an enhanced user experience and additional automation, the Explorer Plus EXP range takes the platform further. Its motorised levelling system and digital level bubble enable users to level the balance with a single touch, helping to reduce setup errors and save valuable time.

The EXP range also offers flexible placement options, thanks to its detachable terminal and base. This makes it easier to position the balance in confined laboratory spaces or inside a fume hood. Touchless automatic draft-shield doors, anti-pinch safety features and customisable status lights further improve usability and workflow efficiency.

Across both ranges, Explorer balances combine accuracy, connectivity and sustainability. Environmental sensors monitor temperature, humidity and air pressure to support reliable results. HID connectivity enables simple communication with a computer or keyboard without additional drivers, while optional Bluetooth and Wi-Fi provide further flexibility.

OHAUS has also introduced an ECO power-saving mode that can reduce energy consumption by up to 65% during idle periods. Reduced packaging helps minimise material use, shipping costs and waste - demonstrating that high performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
