This eLearning presentation by Peak Scientific will give a broad overview of gas generator technology discussing technologies used in production of hydrogen and nitrogen and pure air as well as safety and economic advantages of using generators.
People attending the ELearning session will gain insight into a range of technologies used to purify nitrogen and hydrogen gas for applications such as LC-MS, GC and FT-IR, and how to select a system that will integrate with their laboratory setup and infrastructure. The session will also show how use of generators can improve employee safety in the lab and how laboratory workflow and efficiency can be improved through the use of generators, leading to potential time and cost savings.
1) Technologies used in generated gas production
2) Use of alternative carrier gases in GC and their advantages/pitfalls
3) Benefits of using generators in terms of lab safety, workflow and environment
Ed Connor DR.SC. is a Product Manager at Peak Scientific. Prior to joining Peak in February 2013, Ed completed his Dr.Sc. at ETH Zurich in Switzerland using GC-MS to look at herbivore induced plant volatiles and their interaction with beneficial insects. He then joined the University of Zurich where his work focused primarily on volatile collection methods and analyses using GC-MS and GC-FID .
