You know just how effective your surfactant is. But do you also know how quick it is? Whether pumping, stirring or flooding: oil-water interfaces are always in motion. Just knowing the equilibrium value of the interfacial tension is no longer sufficient. The drop volume technique of the DVT50 from Krüss records the interfacial tension under dynamic conditions – in an interface age range from fractions of a second up to several minutes.

Thanks to its wide measuring range from 100 mN/m down to 0.1 mN/m and the possibility of thermostatting the liquid phases the instrument is suitable for a wide range of applications. Very simple handling during filling and cleaning as well as software control with programmed measuring sequences ensure a smooth measurement procedure with a high sample throughput.

Examples of applications: emulsification in pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries; tertiary crude oil recovery; solvent-free degreasing;

and cleaning processes.
