New Fluorescent Labels for Biological Applications

A new range of quantum dot-based fluorescent labels is now available in the UK and Ireland exclusively from Cambridge Bioscience. Developed by Evident Technologies, these labels take advantage of the unique characteristics of quantum dots to give bright, highly photostable fluorescent labels. Ideal for biological applications, high quality quantum dots are available in a wide variety of colours, from deep blues (490 nm) to near-infrared (680 nm). Products include EviTags? - biologically inert, conjugation-ready, nano-scaled particles that can be used to create new forms of assays, combining quantum dots with a familiar biological interface.

EviTags improve multiplexing experiments and exhibit excellent signal-to-noise performance. The novel properties of EviTags enable a variety of new in vivo applications and improve western blot analysis, flow cytometry and other fluorescent life science methods.

The quantum dots in EviTags are coated with PEG lipids which ensures stability and preserves the optical properties of quantum dots in water, buffers and other common life science environments.
