Chemical Drainage Pipework receives First Class Honours at Cardiff University

Vulcathene chemical drainage pipework has been supplied for a number of laboratories in a research centre on Maindy Park Campus at Cardiff University.

The new build research centre is a five storey construction, comprising of a cancer research centre, the university’s MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics and the Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute. The Hadyn Ellis Building, named after the late Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haydn Ellis, is due to be unveiled in 2013.

Cardiff University specified Vulcathene pipework for the chemical drainage requirements in the research centre’s laboratories, whilst contractor B and H Plumbing was tasked with installing the pipework system in sizes 50mm to 102mm.

The market leading pipework system was chosen for its proven track record for chemical drainage, as it is the only product that has passed the test of time in terms of safely conveying chemical waste.
