DWK Life Sciences GmbH (formerly known as DURAN Group GmbH) has launched a new web based application to make designing and printing laboratory labels quick and easy: DURAN® Label Creator web app. New DURAN® YOUTILITY labels supplied in a printer ready A4 sheet format accompany the new app.

Laboratory labels carry critical information, and without accurate labelling, months of research might be put at risk. The reliable labelling of scientific samples is an integral part of the success of any laboratory.

Using the free of charge DURAN® Label Creator web app, researchers can easily layout their own dedicated labels by downloading ready-made hazard pictograms, adding alphanumeric text, or optional QR codes or barcodes.  Users are free to express their creativity by adding eye-catching background colours, or by downloading their own personal images onto the labels. The DURAN® Label Creator web app. outputs a PDF file for printing onto the sheets of DURAN® YOUTILITY labels using typical office printers.

Alistair Rees, DURAN® Product Manager at DWK Life Sciences commented: 'There are numerous blank laboratory labels available in the market, however there is no really easy way to print information onto the labels. For this reason, most lab labels are still handwritten with the potential risk of illegibility. We believe that the new DURAN® Label Creator web app. makes designing and printing lab labels easy and fun.'

The robust DURAN® YOUTILITY identification labels are self-adhesive, and are suitable for labelling YOUTILITY bottles, plus many other types of laboratory glassware, such as DURAN® Original Laboratory Bottles GL 45, beakers and conical flasks. The DURAN® Label Creator web app. is available free of charge. To find out more please click here.
