Evaporative Light Scattering Detection Within an Optimized Small Footprint

Oct 31 2007

Gilson, Inc., introduces a new evaporative light scattering (ELS) detector with one of the smallest footprints available on the market today. The PREPELS? II Detector features the same industry leading detection performance as the original Gilson model, although the internal components have been optimized significantly, decreasing the overall footprint.

The PREPELS II is equipped with exclusive Thermo-Split? Technology that enables selective optimization of split ratios for isocratic and gradient conditions. The detection range is the largest offered compared to other ELS detectors in the industry; a low-gain setting is used for milligram samples and a normal-gain setting for nanogram to microgram samples offering a full range of signal detection.

The PREPELS II is ideal for obtaining the purest fractions with the ability to detect analytes with or without a chromophore, including compounds that have poor UV absorption such as sugars, carbohydrates, lipids and triglycerides. The PREPELS can be integrated into a system using a Gilson 15X Detector providing a mode of detection and selective determination of compounds not seen with UV detection alone.
